Bronze zgarda 5х2,5 (ЗБ 01-18)

In the Hutsul region the adornments with their characteristic archaic features are in great demand in their native lands. Like in former times, today they are an inherent attributes of everyday, holiday and wedding dresses. Probably for this reason the Hutsul masters are making adornments with a great thrill, keeping traditions of their people and putting in their products their creative imagination. One of the finest folk art examples is bronze zgarda «ЗБ 01-18». The product has dimensions 5х2,5 сm, and can be used as a separate jewelry or for creating zgarda. 

The bronze cross is cast by Hutsul master under the home conditions. The cast of bronze workpiece he mints and engraves, after that the bronze item is strung on a necklace from ceramic corals. This cross has a unique ancient form of a «Maltese cross». Such crosses were common in pre-Christian times. They are one of the earliest forms of crosses, known to mankind.

The handcraft is made by Orest Oniskiv – the famous master of artistic carving, who has inherited the tradition of metal crosses manufacturing from his grandfather Roman Strinadyuk, the honored master of folk art of Ukraine.
