Bronze zgarda 1,5х1,5 (ЗБ 01-04)

In the old days some of the jewelries were amulets, for example, cast cross. It protected its owner from the evil eye and evil spirits. Amber or red beads had healing powers, and it was believed that they have a positive effect on the thyroid. The first time the cross was given to girls at the age of six years. And each next birthday party crosses were added, stringing them by twos, placing them on both sides of the first cross. Thus, over the years the number of presented crosses increased to several ranges.

The bronze cross «ЗБ 01-04» is cast in home conditions. After minting it is engraved and strung on a necklace of ceramic coral. You can see in the photo how the finished product looks. We draw your attention that it is the Maltese cross, the form of which was one of the first among the found by people. It is customary to refer such crosses to the period before the birth of Jesus Christ.

The bronze cross was made by mosjazhnik (in the Hutsul region it means a master, making different articles of copper) Orest Oniskiv – the grandson of the famous folk craftsman of artistic metalwork Roman Strinadyuk. The necklaces «Zgarda» are very popular in Ukraine.
