According to interesting ancient manufacturing technique of the lizhnyk, it is made on the wooden loom by hand. After lizhnyk is woven, it is brought to a mountain river. The handcraft is placed in a wooden barrel with holes through which the mountain stream is floating. Now the fast water sets about work, it washes every villus and strand of fur. This process lasts for two days, then lizhnyk is dried and combed with metal brush for a few hours. Due to this action, lizhnyk becomes soft and fluffy, the undertones in its coloring appear.
